Serifosa is one of the self-contained domes that make the habitation of Komarr possible.

During the conquest of Komarr by the Barrayans and the subsequent revolts, Serifosa always played only a minor or even no role at all. As a result the dome escaped most of the destruction which other domes received.

Serifosa became more prominent, although only in security circles, when a small group of terrorists used it as a base to stage launch their campaign to collapse the wormhole leading to Barrayar.

It is the capital of its planetary sector.
