====== Soletta Array ======

The Soletta Array is an array of seven mirrors arranged in a snow-flake pattern with six mirrors surrounding a central seventh. It orbits [[..:places:komarr]] and focuses sunlight onto the planet.

It is part of the [[..:misc:terraforming|terraforming]] project that is attempting to make [[..:places:komarr]] completely habitable for humans.

Many Komarrans see the array as a symbol and the psychological impact of its capture by [[vorkosiverse:people:vorkosigan_aral|Admiral Vorkosigan]] during the [[..:places:barrayar|Barrayaran]] invasion of [[..:places:komarr]] did much to break the spirit of the population.

Recently the array was severely damaged when a freighter collided with it.

Its future has now been assured, after a measure passed in the Barrayaran [[vorkosiverse:organisations:council_of_counts]] to have the array repaired and expanded.
